Detroit, MI (March 5, 2012) – Detroit-based 501c3, Detroit Harmonie announced the results of its first-ever Get Funded Challenge at the second annual International Experience on Saturday, March 3. Detroit-based social entrepreneurs including Detroit SOUP, En Garde! Detroit, Fresh Corner Café, PonyRide and Summer in the City, were in the running for $45,000 dispersed in first-fifth place prizes ranging from $30,000-$1,000. All 11 original Detroit Harmonie board-determined semi-finalists were also eligible for the $5,000 People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award was designed to afford the broader community the opportunity to determine the winner through online and on-site voting at the event. More than 600 attendees were on hand as the Get Funded Challenge winners announced.
